"ROVIO". Ring any bells? yo! the team behind the now "Cult game" ANGRY BIRDS.
Now they are atlast breaking out of the Angry birds stance and avoiding oblivion by challenging new horizons. Amazing Alex is the latest offering from ROVIO, a physics game that requires the player to apply the basics of physics to achieve the goals at every level such as knocking out something or land the ball in particular basket.
My first impressions said that this game was similar to Gravity Master, one of my all time favorites. I dug a bit further and now I can say that this game was previously known as Casey's Contraptions. They improvised upon it and here we are with our very own brand new Amazing Alex. It is also claimed that the game is a copy of the 1992 PC game "The incredible Machine".
Whatever the source, as of today it is called Amazing Alex.
I would want you to watch the official trailer before we go ahead about the game.
Well, I hope you now have a good idea of the game. Personally speaking, I enjoyed playing Gravity Master, I felt it was a real puzzle with the simplest possible interface. However, Amazing Alex is all glammed up Rovio style and is easier to play than Gravity Master.
The first few levels are simply knock over but when the difficulty levels raise, the fun begins. The objectives are anything like knocking over a pile of books or getting a bowl into a basket, so on and so forth. And then there are balls and balloons, A tennis ball would require different force than that of a golf ball, a snooker ball or a football. And when it is balloons, it is an entirely different ball game.
As you progress down the levels you will see that you are provided with a toolbox of limited tools using which you fill the gap (unlike in gravity Master when you can sketch an object of your choice to make a barricade or fill the floor level). You can unlock the toolbox as and when you proceed further.
Like many others, I too, was frustrated with the level of ease in the first few levels of the free version, but when I bought the game, I realized that I can create and edit my own levels. It was more than an hour before I took my eyes of my nexus playing the paid version.
I am sure this is not the first and definitely not the last post on this topic. Many others will write and touch open more details. My idea was to let you know about Amazing Alex, introduce you to the game and give a sneak peek into it. I hope I have done that.
When I was drafting this article, Amazing Alex was priced $1.01 and I say it is worth it.
Now, why should one shell out the pennies to buy this game? I will give you two reviews one from the person who has the full game and another who played the free version.

I didn't realize it was a children's game . It is good for 5 years old. Not a game for adults as you will lose interest quickly - Tony on Google Play Store 7/12/2012
PAID VERSION
Great graphics and sound. Game play is very addictive, its hard to stop playing. I love the ability to create own levels. Works flawlessly on nexus -Jarno on Google Play Store 7/12/2012
